Ten Reasons I’d Rather Marry a Dakimakura
Posted on May 26, 2011Dakimakura also known as a kind of large, huggable pillow from Japan, often with a picture of a popular anime character printed on the side. There are more than ten reasons why a man would want to marry an anime pillow not because he is a pervert or an escapist but because he treasures his security and for the first time he can have a real companion for life. So addictive is the comfort that comes along with the anime pillows such that you might become addicted for life even when you are aged. However, it is all for your own good as you will see. Nothing can beat snuggling into your hug pillow throughout the night and the sleep is comfortable and deeply satisfying.
#Reason 1:
Funny as it may sound, your dakimakura will stay young forever, as “huggable” as when you bought it when it was new. For once, you have a partner who will stay young forever and probably even when you die “she” will still be young, warm and comfortable.
#Reason 2:
For this once, you have the peace and serenity of mind as you will ever know them. You will never be yelled at, no mood swings and no bouts of sadness. Your anime pillow is always there for you, to use as and when you like it. No yelling, no quarrels, no questions about where you were last night and no pouting. For once, you don’t have to call home just because you stayed late having a couple of drinks with friends.
#Reason 3:
Get a dakimakura of your own size or whatever size you would like. Try as many human partners as you like, but they never come in the right size that you have in mind.
#Reason 4:
Your dakimakura is always there for you. You will never find them out with friends, will never be late out and will never be unfaithful. At last, that fear of what your partner could be doing on their day out is banished, forever.
#Reason 5:
You have beaten a messy divorce where somebody wants to split your property and money that you earned alone, in half. At last, that angle is taken care of. No messy divorces.
#Reason 6:
No matter what a bad day it has been, you will never sleep alone. You can hug your dakimakura while you sleep everyday and every night.
#Reason 7:
Hug your anime pillow even when you do mundane things like watching a movie on the couch.
#Reason 8:
No ohs and ouches when you dance: A dancing partner who does not say what a lousy dancer you are or who doesn’t scream when you step on their toes.
#Reason 9:
Your anime pillow is good for exercise. At last you can you can stretch out, do press-ups on your “partner” they will not mind. This is also a security object for you that never leaves your grasp as you sleep.
#Reason 10:
When you die, your companion will be right there with you. They will never forsake you.

Okita has a laid back and nonchalant personality and also likes to tease Hijikata, who does get quite annoyed by it. It seems they both are much closer to each other than the other Shinsengumi members as they have been Shinsengumi for a longer time than the others. He suffers from tuberculosis, and is later visited by Nagumo Kaoru who gives him a bottle of Ochimizu as a cure for his tuberculosis. Driven by guilt at being incapacitated by his illness, Okita drinks the elixir. Although he becomes a Rasetsu, the Shinsengumi realize that he doesn’t get any benefit from accelerated healing when injured by silver weapons, thus discovering the weakness of Rasetsu. He is based on the historical Okita Soji.
